Embed a photo into a Chronolog site description

To add a photo to a Chronolog site description, you need a publicly-accessible URL to the photo on the internet.

Embed your image in a Chronolog site description

  1. Paste the direct image URL into the URL field of the Image Embed Tool in the Chronolog Description editor.
  2. You can set height and width to "auto" to make the image fit the full width of the description section.
  3. Click "Save" to update your site description.

That's it! Your photo should now be embedded in the site description.

Getting a URL for your image

If you don't already have a URL for your image, you can either self-host the image on your website, or use a free service like Imgur to host it for you.

Self-hosting the Image

If your organization has a website, you may be able to host the image there. Upload the photo to your website and obtain its public URL.

Using Imgur to Host Your Photo

If hosting the image on your organization's website isn't an option, you can use a free image hosting platform like Imgur. Here's how to do it:

  1. Create a Free Account

Sign up for a free account on imgur.com.

  2. Upload Your Photo

Go to Imgur's upload page and upload the photo you want to embed.

    Get the Direct URL

    • Once uploaded, right-click the image and select "Open Image in New Tab".
    • Copy the URL from the new tab (this is the direct link to your image).

Note: Do not use the link that Imgur provides for sharing, as it links to a webpage, not the image itself.
